Abstract:
We provide a short overview of the FEEPS (Fly’s Eye Electron Proton Spectrometer) design and performance. We then will show some of the early data taken by FEEPS during the MMS commissioning exercises. These data were taken all around the MMS orbit with some high resolution RAW data taken from just above geosynchronous altitude all the way down to MMS’s perigee altitude, traversing the outer radiation belt and slot region. In addition, data will be taken during a close conjunction with the Van Allen Probes planned for mid June 2015. We will inter-compare the FEEPS and Van Allen Probes MagEIS observations from that conjunction.
