Abstract:
In this talk I discuss probing and the role of electric currents in solar atmosphere, primarily—in chromosphere and corona, in supporting the force-free magnetic configurations, the plasma dynamics, energy release, and acceleration and transport of nonthermal particles. In particular, I discuss electron and ion components forming electric current in a multi-component plasma, effect of the electric current on the Alfven wave properties, and current neutralization due to return currents.
