A crash course on DKIST and your role in defining the Critical Science Plan

Session ID#: 42778

Session Description:
The National Solar Observatory is the PI institute for construction and operation of the
4-m Daniel K. Inoyue Solar Telescope (DKIST).

In preparation for start of operations in early 2020, the
NSO is supporting a range of initiatives to advance the DKIST
Critical Science Plan (CSP), with the final aim of defining critical science
goals for the first two years of DKIST operations.

We propose to hold a workshop during the TESS meeting, to increase
awareness of the DKIST CSP among the community at large, and provide practical
training for active participation in the CSP effort.

The workshop is meant as a complement to the CSP development meetings currently
being held both domestically and abroad, and is directed in particular at
colleagues not yet involved in the effort.
