E-POP OBSERVATIONS OF PULSATING AURORA

Abstract:
The Enhanced Polar Outflow Probe (e-POP) satellite was launched on September 29, 2013 into a 325 x 1500 km orbit with an 81 degree inclination. The satellite hosts eight scientific instruments, including a Fast Auroral Imager (FAI) and various particle instruments, making it an ideal platform for exploring fine structure associated with pulsating aurora. During the months following launch and commissioning, several observations of pulsating aurora were acquired in the northern hemisphere. In this presentation, we review these observations and interpret the data in the context of other recent results regarding pulsating aurora.
