Coupled Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical-Chemical Processes Related to Geoenergy and Geoengineering Applications II Posters

Session Description:
Geo-energy and geo-engineering applications involve interaction of complex thermo-hydro-mechanical-chemical processes in geological media. The interest in these coupled processes is increasing rapidly. Applications include geological disposal of energy wastes including geologic carbon storage and nuclear waste storage, hydraulic fracturing and its subsequent wastewater disposal and induced seismicity, natural and enhanced geothermal energy, seasonal gas storage, discovery and recovery of conventional and unconventional hydrocarbons, mining and resources engineering. The integration of experimental, analytical and numerical approaches is necessary for interpretation of field data and to understand the underlying processes that take place in heterogeneous geological systems. We solicit contributions from detailed conceptual, analytical, experimental, geological, seismological and numerical studies that focus on these applications.
