T11F:
Deep structure of Tibetan Plateau and Surrounding Regions and Its Geodynamic Implications I

Session ID#: 10793

Session Description:
Collision between Indian and Eurasian plates resulted in the formation of the Tibetan Plateau. Its deep structure and geodynamic mechanism are always the focus problem in geosciences. In recent years, many researches of geology, geophysics and geochemistry have been launched in Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas, and a series of important results have been obtained. At the same time, some new scientific problems appear. In this session, we will focus on the hot issues about uplift and growth of the Tibetan Plateau, and show new results ranged from seismology, MT, gravity, heat flow, GPS, modeling to new method and technology, and provide a platform to learn from each other, discussion with each other, collaboration with each other on the crust and mantle structure of the Tibetan Plateau and its geodynamic mechanism.
