NH42A:
Monitoring, Prediction, and Hazard Mitigation of Hydroclimatic Extreme Events II

Session ID#: 10996

Session Description:
Hydroclimatic extremes have significant socio-economic and terrestrial ecological impacts. This session focuses on the analyses of hydroclimatic extremes including but not limited to:

(a)   Prediction and monitoring of extreme events using satellite/radar/ground-based data.

(b)    Reliability, resilience (relief response), and risk analysis of infrastructures exposed to extreme events.

(c)   Analysis of extremes and their precursors using hydroclimatic models and statistical approaches.

(d) Existing and potential trends in the severity, duration, and spatiotemporal patterns of extreme events.

(d) Analysis of extreme events under non-stationary circumstances.

(e) Climate change impacts on the risks of extreme events.

(f) Uncertainties associated with forcing data and hydroclimatic models used for monitoring extreme events.

Studies at regional or continental scales are encouraged
