V33D:
Resolving Process through Geochronology: New Techniques, Applications, and Interpretations III Posters

Session ID#: 11043

Session Description:
Geochronology is one of the cornerstones of Earth science as it establishes a primary record of absolute time, the fundamental independent variable for all geologic processes. Advances in geochronological methods are providing unprecedented insight into such processes: improvements in sampling, analytical precision, cross-method integration, and contextualization of dates with complementary geochemical and petrologic constraints now permit the resolution of geologically-meaningful variability on previously inaccessible spatial, temporal, and compositional scales. We solicit contributions that employ novel techniques, methodologies and models for both producing and interpreting high spatial/temporal-resolution geochronological datasets. Relevant contributions include but are not limited to topics ranging from: 1) timescales of continental crust formation/differentiation, 2) ashbed geochronology and the calibration of Earth history, 3) deformation/cooling of the lithosphere, 4) volcanism, 5) integrated field-laboratory studies, 6) mass spectrometric innovations, and 7) multi-method analytical workflows.
