Research Results from the Multiseason, Multiyear Western U.S. NASA Remote Measurement Science Campaign II Posters

Session Description:
In order to quantify ecosystem characteristics, composition and dynamics with measurements from the visible through thermal infrared, NASA conducted a multi-season, multi-year science campaign over 6 large regions of the western U.S. in preparation for the future HyspIRI Mission.  Full visible through short wavelength infrared imaging spectroscopy as well as thermal infrared multispectral images were acquired.  These data captured a diverse surface types with results spanning terrestrial and aquatic ecosystem composition, function, biochemistry, seasonality, and modeling; urban land cover, temperature, evapotranspiration; surface energy balance; atmospheric characterization and local methane sources; surface geology, resources, soils, and hazards. The campaign also captured the onset of the most severe draught in California’s history and includes the Rim and King fire impact zones.  This session provides an opportunity for investigators to summarize their latest results.
