GC53F:
Taking the Temperature of the Earth: Long-Term Trends and Variability across All Domains of Earth's Surface II Posters

Session ID#: 7644

Session Description:
Surface temperature (ST) is a critical variable for studying the energy and water balances of the Earth surface, and monitoring climate changes. This session is in support of the EarthTemp network that was established in 2012 to stimulate new international collaboration in measuring and better understanding ST across all domains of the Earth’s surface including air, land, sea, lakes, and ice. Knowledge of ST variations across all these domains are important because they affect ecosystems, surface-atmosphere interactions, and quality of human life. This EarthTemp session is focused on the use of ST's for assessing variability and long-term trends in the Earth system, in addition to providing inputs for modeling efforts.
