H23G:
Novel Environmental Sensor Strategies: Wireless and Beyond Posters

Session ID#: 8568

Session Description:
Earth Scientists are an inventive bunch of people. If the tools to monitor the processes of their interest are not available, or too expensive, they'll build their own. It may depend on duct tape and tie-wraps, but it will get the job done. They may use Twitter to data-mine untapped sources of information. This session provides a venue for scientists making use of the opportunities to transform monitoring that have been provided by the recentavailability of low cost sensors & electronics, the open source movement, the rise of social media or any other out of the box way to measure the geosphere. This session is affiliated with the IAHS working group "Measurements and Observations in the XXIth century (MOXXI). We greatly encourage demonstrations at this poster only session.
