H11E:
Interacting Physical and Ecological Processes across Terrestrial and Aquatic Systems I Posters

Session ID#: 8612

Session Description:
Two-way interactions between biotic and abiotic processes are fundamental drivers of near-surface dynamics on Earth, across terrestrial and aquatic systems. Yet, physical and biological processes in watersheds, freshwater ecosystems, estuaries, and coastal waters have largely been studied independently.  This session seeks to involve a multi-disciplinary community interested in developing an understanding of the interactions and feedbacks between biotic and abiotic processes, from the microbial to the global scale, now and in the past. We welcome contributions on observational, experimental, and theoretical studies of the dynamic interactions of the Biosphere with the Geosphere and the Hydrosphere near Earth's surface. Examples include, but are not limited to, interactions between life and landscapes in fluvial and coastal environments, and any aspect of the multiple feedbacks among hydrology and geomorphology with ecology and evolution.
