H31G:
Groundwater Flow and Transport in Coastal Aquifers I Posters

Session ID#: 8784

Session Description:
Groundwater is a vital resource providing water supplies for drinking water, agriculture and industry. This usage is concentrated around fast growing and densely populated areas, of which are coastal areas where seventy percent of the world’s population dwell.  This session seeks advances in the state of the art in research for field investigations, laboratory experiments, and numerical simulations for variable density groundwater flow and transport in coastal aquifers, and their applications in understanding submarine groundwater discharge and developing integrative, cost-effective strategies for controlling seawater intrusion.
