IN41C:
Semantics for the Discovery, Access, and Integration of Geoscience Data II Posters

Session ID#: 8812

Session Description:
Semantic technologies, by adding machine readable meanings to data, raise the functionality of existing data platforms to a new level and create possibilities for more efficient interactions between users and data sources, as well as among data sources. Various semantics-relevant community efforts and standards, such as ESIP, Research Data Alliance, EarthCube, CODATA, schema.org, DataCite, and DCAT, to name a few, promote the discovery, access and integration of scientific data. Geoscience, a domain with abundant sources, types, and formats of data, has made significant progress in deploying semantic technologies in recent years. The session welcomes all works relevant to semantics, including and not limited to vocabulary building, ontology engineering, data archival and publication, and multi-source data integration.
