The 2015 Parker Lecture

Session ID#: 9753

Session Description:
The Parker Lecture recognizes a scientist for outstanding contributions to the field of Solar and Heliospheric Physics. It is one of three Bowie Lectureships awarded within the Space Physics and Aeronomy Section. Like the AGU Bowie Medal, the lectures recognize outstanding contributions to fundamental geophysics and unselfish cooperation in research. The lectures focus on significant achievements of the SPA sub-disciplines and outline future prospects of the field in a manner accessible to all scientists. This lectureship is named in honor of Professor Eugene Parker, a pioneer in solar and heliospheric physics.
