Driving Scientific Innovation with Open GIS Data

Abstract:

Organizations around the globe are accelerating scientific discovery and creating new products by working with Earth observation in the cloud. This session will feature findings from the Landsat on AWS project, which has made over 100 terabytes of Landsat 8 data available in the cloud. It will include explanations of technical implementations and a discussion about what can be accomplished without limitations of bandwidth, storage, memory, or processing power.
