Ion Collisional Transport Coefficients in the Solar Wind

Abstract:
Using WIND/SWE data we quantify different ion transport coefficients at 1 AU. We determine collisional isotropization frequencies of protons and alpha particles, their relative collisional deceleration frequency and the corresponding heating rates. We discuss the obtained results in the context of the ion thermal energetics in the solar wind.
