Abstract:
In this presentation we show that by using un-matched decoding for alternating codes estimates of the autocorrelation function of the backscatter can be estimated at ranges between those resolved by matched filtering. This provides an additional factor of two number of samples of the back-scatter, with a quarter of the power, which should lead to improvements in code performance by a factor of 1.5. This means an increase in the speed of incoherent scatter radar experiments by the same factor.
