Abstract:
What does it mean to engage a scientific user, and where do you start? What are the metrics for success in this process and how do you know if such an activity will lead to an overall improvement in the scientific workflow? These questions and many others help shape an organization’s engagement strategy, inform course corrections and should ultimately lead to prescribed successful outcomes. This analysis would be incomplete without a review of a diverse subset of previous engagement attempts at the institutional, national and international levels.
