Session Description:
Significant earthquakes often cause various observable phenomena in the solid earth and its fluid systems. Examples include changes in gas discharge, streamflow,  groundwater level, hydrocarbon production, seismic velocity, geomagnetic field, and triggered earthquakes.   Due to the increasing hydrological, geochemical, and geophysical monitoring efforts and the occurrence of many large earthquakes in recent years, many such responses have been recorded instrumentally. The magnitude of such responses has been found to depend on the geological and hydrogeological settings, distance from the earthquake, and the earthquake magnitude.  In this session we intend to gather scientists working on this wide range of studies to share and discuss their findings.  We welcome all contributions related to long- and short-term responses to earthquakes, including observations and explanations.
