A33B:
Climate Sensitivity and Feedbacks: Advances and New Paradigms I Posters

Submit an Abstract to this Session Please know the abstract submission deadline has passed. There are no exceptions to this deadline and no new abstracts can be submitted.
You can still search the program to see your colleagues abstract submissions as well as the sessions submitted for the 2016 Fall Meeting. The final program will be released in early October.

Session ID#: 12692

Session Description:
An abiding goal of climate science has been to reduce the uncertainty in climate sensitivity - a metric commonly used to quantify the global equilibrium climate response to forcing. However, estimates remain at 2-4.5 K, a range largely due to clouds and other moist processes. In light of new observations, this session will revisit our constraints on transient and equilibrium climate sensitivity and re-evaluate the utility of the traditional forcing-feedback-sensitivity paradigm. We welcome submissions on theory, observations, and modeling studies of feedbacks and climate sensitivity, especially those exploring novel evaluation techniques, and new ways of thinking about processes that govern climate's response to external forcing.
