GC11A:
Climate and Environmental Changes in Arid Central and East Asia I Posters

Submit an Abstract to this Session Please know the abstract submission deadline has passed. There are no exceptions to this deadline and no new abstracts can be submitted.
You can still search the program to see your colleagues abstract submissions as well as the sessions submitted for the 2016 Fall Meeting. The final program will be released in early October.

Session ID#: 13184

Session Description:
Arid Central and East Asia today falls under the influence of the mid-latitude westerly. It is also a major source region of atmospheric dust, which could affect the radiative forcing of climate on a global scale. In history, this region not only experienced dramatic hydrological, environmental, and ecological changes, but also witnessed the rises and falls of the old "silk road".

This session will assemble studies of Quaternary climate and environmental changes at various time-scales. We invite submissions of new data, records, and results on: (1) the long-term history and mechanism of acidification; (2) the desert evolution during the Quaternary; (3) the development history and processes of atmospheric dust; (4) climate and environmental changes at orbital-, millennial, centennial-, and decadal-scales;  (5) regional hydroclimate and environmental responses to global warming; and (6) new techniques for paleoclimate and paleoenvironmental studies in Arid Central and East Asia.
