Session ID#: 13294

Session Description:
The frontiers of electromagnetic geophysics span giant magnetotelluric arrays for imaging deep crust and mantle processes to focused arrays for resource exploration and environmental, hydrological, volcanological, and geothermal mapping of the shallow crust. This session welcomes contributions from all things electromagnetic, including results from field studies for basic and applied research to presentations on the advancement of electromagnetic and magnetotelluric methods. This includes the development and application of novel instrumentation and data processing techniques, and new frontiers in numerical and inverse methods (e.g. 3D, joint, and multiphysics inversions; non-linear uncertainty estimation). We encourage contributions from all scales of electromagnetic studies stretching from laboratory studies of mineral and rock conductivity to large arrays for onshore, offshore and amphibious exploration to satellite studies of global conductivity.
