Session Description:
The A-Train recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. This session will highlight how Earth science has benefitted from the long and growing multi-sensor data records to better understand Earth’s changing environment and climate. The session will highlight science advances that have resulted through the combination of measurements from the A-Train in understanding many complex and connected processes in the atmosphere, ocean and land. The unprecedented and extensive collection of multi-year, multi-satellite observations continues to provide a unique resource for improving and validating climate and weather models and enables longer-term scientific studies, including analyses of inter-annual variability and long-term trends.

The Session will entertain presentations on

· Atmospheric composition and chemistry,

· Aerosols, clouds, radiation, and the hydrological cycle,

· Atmospheric, oceanic, and terrestrial components of the carbon cycle,

· Weather and other operational applications,

and will give preference to studies that emphasize cross-disciplinary science advances realized through the A-Train multi-sensor system.
