Session Description:
We have seen a number of evaluation and assessment activities being undertaken across the Geoscience communities in recent years, with work related to data set maturity, metadata quality, research software evaluation and other research objects. From the development of recommended practices to more fully developed metrics, these activities are being integrated into larger assessment frameworks. This panel will discuss the impetus for these frameworks, their larger goals and their efforts to work with their research communities to develop these assessment practices.
- What problems are these frameworks or activities trying to solve?
- How are the assessment tools being developed?
- How do they support their communities to create assessment practices that reflect the values and priorities of those communities?
