A31D:
Calibration and Validation of Satellite Microwave, Infrared, and Solar Reflective Observations III Posters

Submit an Abstract to this Session Please know the abstract submission deadline has passed. There are no exceptions to this deadline and no new abstracts can be submitted.
You can still search the program to see your colleagues abstract submissions as well as the sessions submitted for the 2016 Fall Meeting. The final program will be released in early October.

Session ID#: 13556

Session Description:
Satellite observations from passive microwave, infrared and solar reflective instruments play a very important role in weather forecast and climate assessments. However, these observations are subject to errors and uncertainties such as sensor degradation, calibration drift and geolocation error. This session supports all activities related to calibration, validation, bias correction, inter-calibration, and geolocation correction of the observations from passive microwave, infrared and visible instruments. This session also supports similar activities that are normally used to develop climate (environmental) data records from satellite observations.
