From Land to Sea: Rivers as Integrated Signal of Watershed Processes, Climate, and Land-Use Change I Posters

Session ID#: 13563

Session Description:
Rivers are key in connecting land and the ocean. The geochemical composition and fluxes of river dissolved and particulate loads is controlled by a wide array of factors such as the geomorphological, hydrological, biogeochemical, climatic and anthropogenic processes occurring within in the catchment. The integrative nature of river geochemical signals and their downstream evolution is still elusive. Better understanding riverine export to the oceans requires better quantifying the riverine geochemical transfer function. This session welcomes contributions from organic and inorganic, dissolved and particulate, bulk, molecular, mineralogical, and modeling approaches to connecting source to sink.
