Session Description:
Soil systems host vital interactions among biological, geochemical, and physical processes that are critical to important ecosystem services such as agricultural production and climate regulation. The models and data streams that are used to support fundamental and applied research in these topics are increasingly becoming more complex and often require interdisciplinary collaborations. The need to benchmarking and model comparison; fusing data streams with a variety of models; and interfacing of soil models with advanced climate and ecosystems models has been the topic of recent international coordinating efforts including International Soil Modeling Consortium and International Soil Carbon Network. This session aims to further these dialogs  with the broader community of soil systems modelers and data scientists.
