Biofuel-Induced Land Use Change Impacts on Hydrology, Water Quality, and Carbon and Evapotranspiration Dynamics Posters

Session Description:
Substantial changes in land use from field crops to bioenergy crops have been taking place across the Globe over the last decade to meet the increasing demand for crop-based biofuel. These land use changes are known to alter soil properties, hydrologic processes and water quality, and modify carbon and water dynamics. This session is focused on the above issues and submissions are invited on: (i) food versus bioenergy: implications on land and water use, ii) field and landscape studies linking biofuel-induced land use change and crop management with water and carbon budgets, and water quality, (iii) field, watershed and regional scale modeling studies evaluating the hydrologic, and soil and water quality impacts of biofuel associated land use change, and (iv) climate change mitigation potential of different biofuel production systems.
