Session Description:
Performance, decision support tools, and life-cycle analysis associated with green infrastructure (GI) or green-grey hybrid infrastructure are becoming increasingly important for decision-making in regional stormwater management.   Water quality and flood reduction are also key components of the decision-making process when implementing new urban infrastructure.  However, benefits and long term costs of grey, green and hybrid infrastructure are often not well known and rarely quantified. Water quality performance expectations are often based on best practice, rather than from a targeted design.  This session welcomes research intended to improve the performance and predictability of GI and green-grey hybrid infrastructure.  The importance of this topic is highlighted by the recent initiation of a U.S. EPA National Priorities research program, and by the number of hydrologists and urban planners now focused on stormwater research
