Session ID#: 13922

Session Description:
Channel networks are the principal means of sediment accumulation, transport and dispersal across planetary surfaces. Morphodynamic theories have been developed for the initiation and evolution of channel networks found throughout continents, on deltas and tidal flats, and in deep-water environments. However, such systems have been investigated largely independently until recently. This session seeks to explore the similarities and differences between the many types of channel networks found on planetary surfaces. New research on each particular system is invited. Studies that make comparisons between different systems are especially encouraged.
