NH41B:
Landslide Hazard, Runout Dynamics, Vulnerability, and Risk Analysis III Posters

Submit an Abstract to this Session Please know the abstract submission deadline has passed. There are no exceptions to this deadline and no new abstracts can be submitted.
You can still search the program to see your colleagues abstract submissions as well as the sessions submitted for the 2016 Fall Meeting. The final program will be released in early October.

Session ID#: 14115

Session Description:
Landslides, while often smaller in scale relative to other natural hazards, impact nearly every country in the world and cause thousands of fatalities each year. This session will explore the multi-faceted topic of landslide runout and hazard assessment, from extremely rapid to extremely slow events, through physical, hydrological, geotechnical, geological, and geomorphlogical approaches. This session also will consider the vulnerability and risk dimensions of landslide impact through the use of remotely sensed, field-based, and in situ investigations. The session will explore the state of the art as well as recent, advanced findings in research on the dynamics of landslides. Presentations may concentrate on observation and mapping, dating, numerical simulation, uncertainty and quality assessment and field or lab experiments.
