Submit an Abstract to this Session
Please know the abstract submission deadline has passed. There are no exceptions to this deadline and no new abstracts can be submitted.
You can still search the program to see your colleagues abstract submissions as well as the sessions submitted for the 2016 Fall Meeting. The final program will be released in early October.
Please note: this session is being considered for an alternate session format. Please be aware that if your abstracted is accepted in this session, your abstract may be scheduled as a panel discussion or lightning poster presentation. For more information please visit the following link:

Session Description:
Vegetation biomass mapping at multiple scales is important for carbon inventory and monitoring. Biomass models and maps are also relevant to forest and rangeland vegetation science and management applications. Relevant remote sensing technologies range from passive optical multi- or hyperspectral imaging, to active remote sensing techniques using radar or lidar, to structure from motion methods using photogrammetric data collected from airborne platforms including unmanned autonomous systems. Best results may be obtained through data integration across multiple platforms and scales. We welcome submissions that present original approaches to aboveground biomass mapping in terrestrial ecosystems. We particularly seek carbon monitoring systems that are accurate, objective, repeatable and transparent, that are needed for monitoring, reporting, and verification, and that could contribute to reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation.
