Session Description:
It is increasingly understood that planets are complex systems that require knowledge of all aspects of geology to form a self-consistent framework describing their behavior and evolution.
In particular, geochemistry, mineral physics, and geophysics are advancing our understanding of the enigmatic history and processes governing deep planetary development through time. Examples include, but are not limited to, processes of accretion, differentiation, and bombardment; atmospheric development; tectonic evolution; magmatic history; and interactions between the surface, mantle, and core.
We welcome experimental, theoretical, and observational contributions from geochemistry, geophysics, geodynamics, mineral physics, and seismology that address the evolution of planetary bodies.
