Session Description:
As data volumes grow, Earth and Space Science research increasingly relies on supporting informatics infrastructures that enable programmatic access and analysis of globally distributed data resources. Collaborations, partnerships and alliances are proving critical to the utility and sustainability of these data infrastructures. They establish organizational and social frameworks that advance standardization, ensuring valuable scientific data assets can be integrated and re-used to address the key scientific challenges for society today and critical unknown research questions of the future. Community efforts are springing up everywhere with the mission of advancing research through data interoperability, common data frameworks, data services, data archiving, curation, data standards, etc., resulting in more effective use of resources and the development of community agreed infrastructures. Papers are invited from communities, partnerships and alliances that are developing any form of sustainable data infrastructures at any scale that enable sharing, processing and preservation of Earth and Space Science data.
