Surface Processes in the Anthropocene: Human Dimensions of Geomorphic Change and Anthropogenic Chronological Markers in Sediments I Posters

Submit an Abstract to this Session Please know the abstract submission deadline has passed. There are no exceptions to this deadline and no new abstracts can be submitted.

Session ID#: 17733

Session Description:
Geomorphologists have been measuring and quantifying human impacts on sediment transfer and other elements of landscape form and function for decades. In this session we seek contributions from scientists working at the intersection of earth-surface processes, society, and management to evaluate current understanding of how humans affect various elements of geomorphic forms and processes across fluvial, hillslope, coastal, urban, and other environments. Relevant contributions could pertain to measurements and modeling of human-induced geomorphic change, changes in erosion rates from geological to human time scales, and effects of geomorphic change on society. Abstracts could also address, for example, geomorphology perspectives on investigations of sustainability, the nexus of food- energy-water systems, hazards, and other societal concerns.
