Science Observations Enabled by New Advances in Small-Satellite Capability and Technology III Posters

Session Description:
CubeSats, small satellites, and SmallSat constellations are now producing results of scientific significance in the Earth and space sciences. New opportunities are also being explored by scientists to take advantage of hosting payloads on future large-scale commercial space platforms and by exploring the potential utility of data collected by industry-based small spacecraft systems. Recent developments in information systems and miniaturized instrument technologies are also motivating the science community to think in new ways regarding how decadal-class science could be performed based on alternative observation techniques. We invite contributions presenting science results obtained from small satellite missions, new science mission concepts that utilize small satellites, commercial platforms that could host scientific instruments for large-scale constellation observations, and current as well as planned information systems and instrument technology capabilities that will be validated on small satellites with the goal of providing new science measurement capabilities.
