Magnetic Reconnection and Related Phenomena in Geospace III Posters

Session Description:
Scientific results from Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) and other Heliospheric Science Observatory missions will be featured, with specific attention to resolved plasma conditions within the nested ion and electron dissipation regions of reconnection and their three-dimensional structure. Of particular interest are reports of analysis of the new data sets acquired during late 2016 and 2017 when MMS acquired dayside measurements at 12 Earth Radii near the Earth’s subsolar point and in the magnetotail out to 25 Earth Radii. Observations of fine-scaled structures within reconnection-related phenomena, for example, flux transfer events and dipolarization/injection fronts, are also appropriate to this session. Comparisons with appropriately resolved theory and modeling of magnetic reconnection are also encouraged. Both oral and poster presentations will be supported in proportion to demand for and availability of resources.
