Geospatial Methods, Modeling, and Applications of Agricultural Resiliency at Local, Regional, National, and Global Scales II Posters

Session Description:
Developing science-based knowledge through research to monitor and quantify evolving agro-ecological production practices is needed to reduce risk, build resiliency, and inform agricultural communities, management practices, and businesses. Remote sensing, GIS science, volunteered geographic infromation/crowdsourcing, and modeling framework methods help derive accurate, geospatially-driven assessments of agricultural processes and systems on crop-, pasture-, rangelands, and urban agriculture. This session will feature research methods, tools, and applications in monitoring, mapping, and quantifying changes in agricultural production and resiliency. Topics include sustainability, climate, resilience, risk reduction practices, index insurance and economic modeling, grower adaptation and mitigation efforts, agroecology, conservation and/or climate-smart agriculture, land use/land cover conversions, phenology, crop diversification, rotation and intensification, urban farming, food security, food and land sovereignty, and monitoring agricultural area, productivity, and yield.
