From Enzymes to Ecosystems: Temperature Response in the Biosphere I Posters

Session Description:
Understanding temperature dependence across levels of biological organization—from enzymes and organisms to ecosystems, biomes, and the globe—is at the forefront of research in molecular biology, plant sciences, and Earth system modeling. Temperature response is foundational in biological systems. At fine scales of biological organization temperature regulates the rate of enzyme-catalyzed reactions. At coarser scales, the differential response of photosynthesis and respiration to temperature constrains carbon uptake by land systems globally. This session will collate research across scales (from enzymes to ecosystems) and disciplines (including molecular biology, plants, soil, ecosystems and climate modelling) to improve our understanding of the temperature sensitivity of the global biosphere. We aim to develop a coherent theory that functions across scales with appropriate levels of complexity. We welcome submissions that constrain the temperature sensitivity of biological reactions or processes at any scale and through all observational frameworks.
