Session Description:
Anthropogenic activities have impacts on Geohealth through production of pollution, modification of chemical and physical atmospheric features, and transformation of land cover and land use associated with urbanization and socio-economic development. The impacts are enhanced through various pathways and natural hazards including flood, drought, storms, and heat waves, in turn, modifying spatiotemporal distribution of vector-borne diseases, such as Malaria, Dengue Fever, Yellow Fever, etc. Considered as a powerful tool, earth observation data has been demonstrated valuable in supporting planners to monitor climate factors and assess environmental features of various diseases to propose mitigation and prevention strategies. This session seeks for advancements in application, technology, and modelling with earth observation data to contribute exploration of climate changes and understand its impacts on public health related to anthropogenic processes, and solutions for natural and climate patterns controlling and overall prediction of vector-borne diseases for preparedness in short and long visions.
