Temporal and geographic context of Late Triassic to Early Jurassic Climate change and Biotic Evolution

Session Description:
The Late Triassic through Early Jurassic witnessed seminal biotic, climatic, and tectonic events against a backdrop of generally elevated CO2, conjoined continents, and nascent modern ecosystems. New results from drilling campaigns and field expeditions are providing highly temporally resolved and globally exportable records that will be instrumental in developing a mechanistic understanding of pattern and process for Early Mesozoic evolutionary innovations, mass-extinctions, global climate change, large igneous provinces, and Pangean fragmentation. Abstracts are encouraged that explicitly address temporally resolved, spatially extensive (especially latitudinally) records of environmental change, including applications of methodological and conceptual advances, as well as phenomenological discoveries, that ultimately provide context for the modern world.
