Formation of Earth and Its Chemical Reservoirs from High-Precision Isotope Measurements, Dynamical Modeling, Seismology, and Experimental Petrology II Posters

Session Description:
Identification of Earth’s building blocks and the processes by which its interior evolved remain active areas of investigation. Decades of isotopic analyses, dynamical modelling, and experimental petrology have allowed for a multidisciplinary assessment of key events in Earth history. While recent analytical developments have led to high-precision isotope analyses that are revolutionizing the field, identifying Earth’s precursors and understanding how its poorly-mixed interior developed remain unclear. Related processes include main-stage accretion, the Moon-forming event, core segregation, mantle crystallization, late accretion, and crust formation. This session calls on studies that focus on deciphering Earth’s accretionary history and long-term crust-mantle evolution. In particular, research that integrates high-precision isotope ratio analyses (stable or radiogenic) of cosmo- or geo-chemical materials, with dynamical modelling, seismology, or experimental petrology.
