ED002:
Beyond the Science Fair: an Oral Session for K-12 Students Sharing Research

Session ID#: 25729

Session Description:
K-12 students are producing quality earth and ocean scientific research throughout the United States through in school or after-school programs. These students are readily exposed to STEAM practices and are often involved with adults and/or senior scientists to investigate earth and ocean attributes including testing variables and monitoring the environment. Sharing their research at an international scientific conference is beneficial to them, their peers, educators and attending scientists. K-12 students who are involved in such earth and ocean research as lead or co-author are encouraged to participate. The goal of this session is to give K-12 students a platform to present their earth and ocean related research to scientists, educators and peers in order to network and gain best practice research and presentation skills and for the session to serve as a model for other scientific meetings.
