Earth Observations in Support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Paris Agreement, and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction II Posters
Session ID#: 26002
Session Description:
As underlined in its Strategic Plan, and enshrined in the Mexico City Ministerial Declaration, GEO advocates the role of EO in supporting the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). GEO Ministers have also confirmed GEO’s support to the implementation of the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement (COP-21), and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015-2030). Earth observations have strong potential for several SDGs, including: 2 "Zero Hunger"; 3 "Good Health and Well-being"; 6 "Clean Water and Sanitation"; and 13 "Climate Action".
This session focuses on applications of EO in support of these major policy initiatives, including scientific and technological advances and challenges, helping GEO deliver on its Vision.
