Gas-Phase and Aerosol Processes and Characteristics in the Remote Troposphere II Posters

Session Description:
The troposphere over remote oceanic regions is influenced by atmospheric chemical and physical processes operating on a range of temporal and spatial scales. By studying these regions far from immediate sources, we gain insight into the chemical and physical processes that control short-lived climate forcing agents and govern the oxidizing capacity of the atmosphere. Understanding processes in the remote troposphere is also key to accurately simulating the unperturbed, pre-industrial atmosphere, which is essential for evaluating anthropogenic climate forcing.
This session invites abstracts regarding all aspects of chemical and aerosol processes in this under-sampled region of the globe. Presentations focused on modeling, in situ measurements, satellite observations, and integrated analyses are all solicited. Example topics might include methane oxidation lifetimes, ozone production and loss rates, comparisons between model simulations and measurements, oceanic sources of organic gases and particles, and the characteristics of aerosol particles in the remote troposphere.
