Impact of Climate Change on the Sustainable Winegrowing: Observations, Predictability and Solutions

Session Description:
The climate change has brought about various detectable impacts on global agriculture, particularly for those terroir driven product such as wine. Although not a necessity for humanity, wine is undeniably one of most important horticultural products. At the same time, the practice of sustainable winegrowing, including organic, biodynamic and natural wines, has been rising during the past years, which creates a promising future not only for human health but a better human society. However, all the concerns for sustainable winegrowing, e.g. pest management, agrochemical use, biodiversity, water, soil, energy etc., have to respond the changing climate. Therefore, we invite authors to share their observations on the topic based on the past or new data, and to discuss the challenges as well as the possible solutions. To review this topic from an angle of economics or policy-making is also welcomed.
