The Climatic and Oceanic Interactions of the Tropical–Subtropical Atlantic Region: A Paleoclimate Perspective

Session Description:
This session aims to bring together recent research in the Southeastern USA and Central America regions adjoining subtropical and tropical Atlantic Ocean as a regional focus for the AGU 2017 meeting in New Orleans. The oceanic-climatic interactions of this region have significant impacts on the people that live there and understanding the climate dynamics for recent to glacial-interglacial time intervals is vital for regional and global future climate projections. We encourage abstracts involving a variety of terrestrial and oceanic-based reconstructions that explore climatic and oceanic variability on a variety of timescales as well as climate model studies that incorporate or utilize paleoclimate reconstructions in their research.
