H43E:
Conventional and Enhanced Subsurface Energy Systems: Characterization, Integration, Stimulation, Simulation, and Induced Seismicity III Posters

Submit an Abstract to this Session

Session ID#: 31706

Session Description:
Exploration and exploitation of geothermal heat provide opportunities to increase energy options, energy storage, energy market flexibility, and decrease greenhouse gases. We are seeking contributions from theoretical and technological advances that address site selection, characterization & data integration, fracture stimulation, reservoir simulation, and fluid-induced seismicity. We encourage presentations on modeling tools that integrate thermal, mechanical, geophysical, chemical and hydrological processes for geothermal design and simulation, stimulation predictions and trigged induced seismicity, thermal & chemical tracers, working fluid selection and geochemical reactions with surrounding rock.
Primary Convener:  Souheil M Ezzedine, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Livermore, CA, United States
