Sustainable Development Under Environmental, Socioeconomic, and Climatic Changes in Northern Eurasia I
Sustainable Development Under Environmental, Socioeconomic, and Climatic Changes in Northern Eurasia I
Session ID#: 32615
Session Description:
We invite presentations on environmental changes and ecosystem interactions in Northern Eurasia, "human dimension", and tools addressing the Northern Eurasia challenges. In environmental studies, our Session foci are on the carbon cycle and on the permafrost changes in Siberia, Asian Mountains, and the Arctic coastal regions. In the water cycle studies, our Session foci are on the pattern and seasonal cycle changes of regional runoff. In the “human dimension” studies, our Session foci are on assessments of impact of ongoing changes on the human well-being and on mitigation strategies development in response to harmful consequences of these changes. The particular study foci of this Session will be impacts on regional sustainable development in the Eurasian Arctic and the Dry Latitudinal Belt of Northern Eurasia.
We invite also early career scientists associated with (or interested in) the Northern Eurasia Earth Science Partnership Initiative and its continuation, Northern Eurasia Future Initiative (http://neespi.org/).
